Beside our annual events we facilitate weekly social activities for our club members. These are: our Wednesday coffee morning, our Sunday social afternoon and on Tuesday a loyal group of klaverjas players.
Apart from our own club activities there are other Dutch social coffee groups in the Wellington region. In Island Bay we have a group of friendly Dutch expats who meet every Wednesday from 10.30am to noon at the local Community Centre, 137 The Parade, Island Bay.
Up the Kapiti Coast we have an enthusiastic group of expats who meet regularly, namely every second Friday of the month from 10am to noon at the Waikanae Baptist Church, 286 Te Moana Road, Waikanae.
And in Horowhenua we have a group of “Dutchies” from Levin and surroundings who get together for a regular “bakje koffie” every last Thursday of the month from 10am to noon, at the Levin Bridge Club, 17 Tawa Street, Levin.
Feel welcome to pop in at any of these.
As for the Dutch Club Wellington activities, you can check out our calendar for upcoming events.

1st and 3rd Wednesday 10am-1pm
Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month members can come to the clubhouse to enjoy each other's company, catch up on the latest gossip, and buy refreshments and/or lunch. It is also possible to play pool or cards, or borrow books from the library. We start at 10am with coffee. This is followed by lunch (kroket, broodje kaas or ham, soup in winter) at 12noon to finish the morning around 1pm.
Drop by for a cup of coffee, a beer, or something stronger during our social Sundays. Catch up with friends, enjoy a kroket, Dutch company or play billiards. Every Sunday afternoon from 2pm at the clubrooms. We would love to welcome you there.
Every Tuesday a group of card enthusiasts play 'Klaverjassen' at the club house. We play according to the rules from Rotterdam, alternated with the rules from Amsterdam at some days.
We start with coffee at 10am. Play commences at 11am and continues till 2pm. Cost are $2 per day and you have to bring your own lunch. This is a chance to meet with people from all over Wellington who want to mix, talk, and enjoy the game of klaverjas.
