Sinterklaas

For young and old

Sinterklaas is an event most Dutchies will have fond memories of. It is celebrated on the 6th of December in the Netherlands, with a family get together called ‘pakjes avond’ the night before.

The Dutch Club organises Sinterklaas for the wider Wellington-Dutch community every year around the 6th of December. Families can register their children for a small fee and Sinterklaas will make his appearance, assisted by his loyal helpers called ‘Pieten’. Traditionally Sinterklaas arrives on a white horse. In the past we have had Saint Nicholas, as he is also called, arrive via different transport systems. Which way will he arrive this year?

This year Sinterklaas will visit at Avalon House on the 8th of December 2019 at 2 pm. Registration is required.
